As a part of the Club's plan for geographical expansion to include various regions of the Kingdom and to achieve the club's goals in spreading the culture of aviation and its sciences among members of society and preparing the field for practicing and learning general and sports aviation activities, His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Special Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Aviation Club, inaugurated, in the presence of the Emir of Qassim Region, His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 AD, the Saudi Aviation Club Airport in Al-Rass Governorate in Al-Qassim Region.
During the opening, the General Authority of Civil Aviation delivered the license for the Saudi Aviation Club Airport in Al-Rass Governorate, after fulfilling the requirements of the Authority's executive regulations for aviation safety.
The airport is located west of Qassim in Al-Rass Governorate, on an area estimated at (17.6) million square meters, with a runway area of (2.3) million square meters, and a future expansion capacity of about 35% of its current size.
The airport will offer 11 diverse services including: general and sports aviation, paragliding and skydiving. It will also include a center that is the first of its kind for remote control of aircraft, an advanced maintenance center and aircraft hangars, in addition to a specialized academy in aviation sciences and entertainment areas. It will also host various aviation activities and events annually.
