His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Aviation Club, chaired the club's Board of Directors meeting held on Monday, February 5, 2024.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Highness referred to the great support and continuous care that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud - may God protect him - has given to the Saudi Aviation Club since its establishment until it has become a vibrant and giving national institution today, stressing the importance of concerted efforts to achieve more national successes and achievements in line with the great development witnessed by the Kingdom in general and the aviation industry in particular.
His Highness touched on the remarkable increase in operational operations at Al-Thumama Airport and the geographical expansion of the club in various regions of the Kingdom through the completion of the project to establish the club's airport in Medina, its licensing and the start of its operation, and the imminent expiration of the license for the club's airport in the Qassim region.
His Highness stressed the need to activate investment aspects in the club's assets by building aircraft hangars and developing the infrastructure of Al-Thumama Airport to accommodate the remarkable increase in operational operations and ensure the provision of services with the best possible quality, and to develop financial resources.
His Highness congratulated the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Saudi Aviation Club, on winning the hosting of the General Conference meeting of the International Air Sports Federation in Riyadh, coinciding with the date of the Sand & Fun Air Show, which is a great and unprecedented achievement.
His Highness praised the results of the annual report for the year 2023, which included positive statistics that increased over previous years as a result of the expansion in providing services. His Highness also thanked Captain Fares Mounir, the Executive Director General of the Club, for his efforts and dedicated and distinguished work in developing the club, its resources and the services provided.
His Highness concluded that the achievements and successes achieved by the club require everyone to double their efforts and do more to achieve aspirations in line with the club's directions and future expansion work.
