Based on the strategic partnership between the Imam Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Royal Reserve Development Authority and the Saudi Aviation Club, a consultative meeting was held at the headquarters of the Reserve Development Authority on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 AD, where aspects of support and cooperation by the Authority were discussed by participating in the volunteer campaigns organized by the Authority through the involvement of volunteers from the general community to contribute to afforestation and increasing the green area within the reserve, in addition to cleaning the reserve facilities inside and outside the borders of Al-Thumama Airport, by removing non-degradable sediments such as metal and plastic sediments in addition to removing paper sediments.
Based on the request submitted by the Reserve Development Authority, the Saudi Aviation Club management will sign with one of the approved consulting bodies to study the environmental impact of aviation activities, ways to reduce carbon emissions and noise, and ways to improve the environment within the reserve in order to preserve the environment and wildlife.
The required procedures to increase the number of aircraft hangars and various construction works were also discussed to be compatible with wildlife and environmentally friendly, through treatments that reduce carbon emissions and reduce energy consumption to the maximum extent possible.
The mechanism for issuing entry permits for members and visitors and how to facilitate and expedite obtaining them were also discussed, by linking the Saudi Flying Club platform with the electronic platform of the Reserve Development Authority, and facilitating the entry procedures for the families of club members and visitors with ease and convenience.
